Mr. Jonathan Sills, Principal x1119 |
Jon Sills has been Bedford High School's principal since 2000. Mr. Sills came to education inspired by a strong commitment to equity and to equipping students with the thinking skills to independently find meaning in, and make sense of, an ever-changing world. Prior to coming to Bedford, Mr. Sills worked as the Social Studies Program Administrator at Brookline High School and taught United States History, World History and African-American History in Boston, Newton and Ithaca, New York. He has worked as a curriculum developer, summer school director, community college adjunct professor and, during a multi-year hiatus from academics, as an aircraft engine and steam turbine machinist. Mr. Sills holds a BA in Government from Cornell University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa, and a Masters Degree in Education from Harvard University. He is a proud husband, father of three wonderful daughters and grandfather of two great kids.

Mr Kevin Tracey, Asst. Principal x1118 |
Kevin Tracey has been a Bedford High School Assistant Principal since 2006. Prior to his BHS tenure, he taught Social Studies and coached at North Andover High School. He also has experience teaching and coaching in Boston, Connecticut and Dublin, Ireland. Mr. Tracey holds a B.A. in History from Providence College and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction/History and an advanced graduate degree in Educational Leadership from Boston College.
Despite no longer being directly "in the classroom", Mr. Tracey remains passionate about all aspects of teaching from researching innovative instructional strategies and developing new curricula to working collaboratively with colleagues to foster a professional, positive and challenging learning environment. However, Mr. Tracey's favorite part of his job is still working with students and in his current position, supporting teachers in their classrooms. Mr. Tracey truly loves being an Assistant Principal at BHS and considers himself extremely fortunate to work alongside all of his colleagues in Bedford. In his free time, Mr. Tracey delights in spending time with his family. He also enjoys reading, listening to music, golfing and having fun in the outdoors. Go Bucs! |

Mrs Kristen Vogel, Asst Principal x1117 |
Kristen Vogel has been an Assistant Principal at Bedford High School since 2006. Mrs. Vogel has been an educator for 22 years as both a classroom teacher and as an administrator. She was a history/social studies teacher for 16 years in both private boarding schools and the Swampscott Public Schools. She also served as the 6-12 History Curriculum Director for four years and one year as an Assistant Principal in Swampscott. Mrs. Vogel has a B.A. in History from St. Lawrence University and a M.A.T. in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment in History from Boston College. Mrs. Vogel is also currently an adjunct professor of History at Salem State University. |
