Beth Benoit - Principal
Beth Benoit grew up in Holliston MA and received a Bachelor of Science in child development and early childhood education from Wheelock College. She received a Master of Arts in child development focusing on inclusion and teacher preparation from Tufts University. Beth taught prek and kindergarten for ten years before moving to Colorado and becoming a school administrator. She was the Early Childhood Principal for two districts outside of Denver for seven years. She also received a Master of Arts in school administration and leadership from the University of Colorado. After moving back to Massachusetts she worked in Boston Public Schools as the Early Childhood Curriculum and Assessment Program Director. While there she focused on improving Kindergarten curriculum and assessment. Four years ago she joined Bedford Public Schools as the principal of Davis School and she is thrilled to be part of a great community.
Jessica Colby - Assistant Principal
Jess Colby is excited to be working with children, staff and families in her new role as Assistant Principal for the 2016-2017 school year. She lives nearby in Woburn and grew up in Medford Massachusetts. Jess became interested in teaching while pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in child development at Tufts University. She continued at Tufts with a Master of Arts degree in child development focusing on supporting developing teachers, including children with special needs and the development of language and literacy. While at Tufts she began teaching in inclusive classrooms and then joined the Brookline Public Schools teaching integrated early childhood classrooms. While in Brookline Jess worked on various district wide initiatives including revisions to science curriculum, anti-bullying task forces and professional learning groups. She completed a master’s in school administration from Endicott College in 2014. Jess came to Bedford in 2014 and taught Kindergarten at Davis for two years.
