Technology and Library Media

The Technology and Library Media Department provides technical and instructional support to students, staff, faculty and administrators throughout the district.  Our department is comprised of instructional faculty and staff, technical staff, and instructional and technical administrators.

The work of the Technology and Library Media Department is guided by the district’s Vision 2017, which states, “Through the use of technology, students will build their own personal learning networks, collaborate with others, and be producers of knowledge, content and creative expression.” The technical staff and administrators work to maintain the district’s infrastructure and hardware, while our instructional faculty and staff support teachers in designing, implementing and assessing learning opportunities that integrate technology in new and effective ways to improve teaching and learning.

Bedford’s K-12 students use technology to build their own personal learning networks and collaborate with others locally and around the world.  Students team up to creatively solve problems by applying their knowledge and skills to create content through the use of interactive technologies, which allow students to be challenged in ways that are appropriate for their individual abilities, ages and learning styles.  The use of multi-modal technologies enables students to access and create content in various formats, such as text, images, audio files, and videos, which promotes independent learning, differentiated instruction and increased understanding of content.  Students engage in higher order thinking skills through the use of interactive multi-modal technologies as they become active, self-directed, and discerning learners, both inside and outside the classroom.  Click on the links to our Biblio-Tech News and follow us on Twitter to see how technology is being integrated in our K-12 classrooms.
