Ms. Heather Galante, Principal ext. 1119
Heather Galante spent her childhood in Watertown, Massachusetts not far from the suburbs of Bedford. She attended Stonehill College earning her degree in Psychology and Secondary Education. During her college years, Ms. Galante developed a passion for helping struggling students and earned a Masters Degree from The Harvard Graduate School of Education in Counseling and Adolescent Risk Prevention. She spent her early years as a counselor at Minuteman Regional High School before transitioning to the high school classroom at Arlington High School. There she completed an administrative program but waited before transitioning out of the classroom. Prior to landing in Bedford as the High School Principal, she served as a House Dean at Chelmsford High School for almost a decade. Ms. Galante is honored to be at Bedford High School and looks forward having a long tenure as Principal.
Ms Kate Boynton, Asst. Principal ext. 1118
Kate Boynton was born in Cambridge, MA and grew up in Foxboro, MA. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from American University and a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education/History from Boston College. She taught history and social studies for seventeen years, first at Brockton High School, next at Brookline High School. While at Brookline, Kate co-founded two global education initiatives – Global Leadership and the Brookline Cambodia Partnership – that are now well established programs at Brookline High School. Kate earned a second Masters Degree in Educational Administration in 2010 and has been an Assistant Principal at Bedford High school since 2012.
Mrs Christine Larimore, Asst Principal ext. 1117
Christine Larimore is a Bedford High School graduate ('97) and town resident. She grew up in town and spent a fair amount of time on military bases with her Hanscom friends and her brother-in-law. After BHS, she earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame. Always having the intention of attending medical school, she then earned her Master in Public Health degree from Boston University. While going to grad school she was working at McLean Hospital as a mental health counselor and substitute teaching to help pay her way. These experiences helped her to realized her passion for teaching and helping kids. She then went to Salem State and earned another master degree in education with a focus on Math. She taught math in Billerica for one year before coming to Bedford where she taught math for 10 years. She became the math department head in 2007 and held that position until this spring when she was hired as the new assistant principal. She is new to this position as of July 1, 2014. When she is not at school, she is spending time with her two amazing boys (Chase, almost 7, and Cohen, 4.5).
