Roseanne Ham currently teaches, Lifetime Activities, Fitness 1, Health 1, and Health 2. Mrs. Ham attended Boston University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Health. She began her teaching career in the Malden Public Schools and came to Bedford in 1997 teaching first at the John Glenn Middle School and now Bedford High. While at the middle school she was co-advisor of the Chain Reaction Committee where she helped organize Stress Free Day (formerly known as The Day of Respect). Mrs. Ham coaches the Varsity Field Hockey Team in the fall and the JV Girls’ Tennis Team in the spring. She started the middle school field hockey program, in 2002, and has coached at all levels of the program.
Ashley Martell started teaching at Bedford High School in 2008. Ms. Martell first started her teaching career in 2007 at JGMS in the Physical Education Department. Ms. Martell currently teaches Health I, Health II, Fitness Concepts I, Fitness II, Peer Leadership and Healthy Behaviors. Ms. Martell graduated in 2007 from Springfield College where she majored in Physical Education and minored in Health Education. In 2013 she completed her M.Ed. in Health Education. Ms. Martell has had many coaching roles at JGMS and BHS ranging from basketball, to soccer. Ms. Martell lives in Billerica with her family.
Jim Byrnes started coaching at Bedford High School in 1994, teaching in 1999. He teaches Fitness Concepts 1 & 2, Cross training and Healthy Behaviors. He earned his undergraduate degree at Boston State College, M.ED. in Health Education at Cambridge College. He was the head boys’ basketball coach for 21 years, and has coached boys and girls soccer, boys and girls tennis. He lives in Medford.
Kristofor Gunnar Olson began teaching at Bedford High School in 2013. Mr. Olson currently teaches Sports Activities and Fitness Concepts I/II at the high school and 8th grade P.E. at John Glenn Middle School. He graduated from Bedford High School in 2002 and Bentley College (Waltham) in 2006, where he majored in business management and marketing. His family came to the Bedford area via Hanscom Air Force Base in 1991, before his father's retirement from the military. Mr. Olson has been Bedford High's varsity baseball coach since 2013 and is the varsity boys' soccer assistant coach.
Shannon Orifice comes from a wide range of dance styles and background. She has been trained in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop and contemporary. After graduating from Waltham High School in 2002, she attended Dean College and got her AA in Dance and then went on to University of Nevada Las Vegas to then graduate with BA in Dance. She currently teaches at the Studio of Creative Movement in Waltham, where she also grew up dancing. Here at BHS she has been teaching the Dance class for 3 years and is also working in the STEP program. Her passion is definitely to dance and to spread her knowledge of dance with others.
Sandra Campo was new to BHS in 2015, previously, teaching at Peabody Veteran’s Memorial High School in Peabody, MA as a foods and home design teacher. She is the Health & Family Consumer Science Teacher and is currently teaching Foods & Nutrition I & II, Health, Early Childhood Education and Clothing & Fashion Design. She has a BS from UMass Boston and is currently working on her Master’s in Health Education. She has a professional chef certification she received from Boston University in 2011. She has also been a health and fitness trainer for the past 25 years. While home with her young children, she had a home design business. She has three young adult children and currently resides in Ayer MA.
