What's Happening in Tech Ed

In sixth grade, students are learning the basics of coding. Students are creating games, skits and other applications all through writing code. This understanding is crucial to moving forward in engineering, as all manner of technology now run off a coding language of some kind.

Moving forward in seventh grade, students take the next step into engineering design, working with lego robotics to create systems designed to solve problems. This incorporates the coding learned in sixth grade and also prepares them for further practice in design and engineering in eighth grade.

Eighth grade technology class focuses on the design of systems throughout our man made world. Transportation, communication, and manufacturing are all areas of focus. Students also begin work in computer aided design, using several different programs to map out and build 3d parts and objects, which they can then print out for practical use.
