Title I
TITLE I
JGMS provides remedial instruction to students in all grades through funds provided by the Federal government under Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Schools Act. Students are selected for the Title 1 program based on eligibility requirements. JGMS has focused its instruction in Math remediation to help raise achievement and to prepare students for MCAS testing. Students currently meet during Enrichment periods, after school and on Saturday mornings. The classes meet in small groups typically 3 to 5 students. They engage in a variety of Math activities and games designed to strengthen their skills and build their test taking strategies and confidence. The classes focus on remedial skill building rather than specifically following each grade’s curriculum.
